Class news 16.6.23

What a hot week we have had! Next week is also set to be warm, so please remember to put your suncream on before school and bring a hat with you.

This week the children completed their MTC tests. We are so proud of their effort, resilience and determination. Lots of children logged on to TTRS throughout the week to work on their times tables. Thank you for your support with this. All of their efforts were rewarded with an ice cold icepop, which went down very well!

We also worked hard in other areas this week. In PE, we continued to develop our skills in athletics with Mrs Short and cricket on Tuesday. In maths, we continued our work on time. Remember to keep telling the time at home too. During our english lessons, we began to draft our non-chronological reports on rivers. We’ll share some of our examples once we have edited and published them. In PSHCE, we thought more about what makes a good friend and who we can talk to if we have a problem. We ended the week with a special visit from the Dog’s Trust. We learnt more about dogs and how to be safe around them. In class, we learnt more about Sikhism and developed our artwork with Miss Howley.

Have a lovely weekend everyone. See you on Monday.

POW

In 2SB, our POW this week is Lilly. Lilly has shown an excellent attitude to her learning this week and Mrs Horvath has been impressed with her determination in basketball club. Well done Lilly.

From 2HH, our POW is Orion. Orion has worked well this week and asked some excellent questions to further his understanding. Well done Orion.

We’ll be outside some of the day so please make sure you dress appropriately. If it’s warm, bring a cap. If it’s cold or raining, bring a coat.
