Class News 16.12.22

We’re at the end of our first term and what a fantastic term it has been! We’ve become news reporters, authors, illustrators, weather forcasters to name a few jobs. We enjoyed our last week with a lovely Christingle service from Y3. We loved being together at the church and hearing their poems and prayers. On Monday afternoon, we enjoyed our LKS2 Christmas party. We had lots of fun dancing, singing and playing party games. On Wednesday, we had a delicious Christmas dinner with our friends and teachers. During the afternoon, some children visited Fountains Court to perform our carols to the residents. The children were fantastic and made us very proud. On Thursday, we took part in a special Christmas assembly where all of our teachers told the story of the first nativity. We really enjoyed singing some of the songs from Carols round the tree. Today, we ended the week with a special visit from Santa!

We hope you have a lovely Christmas with your family and friends. Remember our P4C lesson this week – the greatest gift I can give my family is ME! See you all in January ready to begin our new topic – Gods & Mortals.

POW

Our last POWs for the year were a tricky decision as lots of the children have worked hard and put in 100% effort each day.

In 2SB, our POW is Lexie-Lou. Lexie has been extremely kind and helpful to her friends and adults in LKS2. Well done Lexie.

From 2HH, our POW is Ava. Ava always tries her best and is a great role model to others. Super work Ava.

Inspire, Enjoy, Achieve

Each half term, all of the teachers in school pick 3 children from each year group who have demonstrated the qualities Inspire, Enjoy and Achieve. This half term we have chosen the following children –

Inspire – Isabelle

Enjoy – Rojin. You always tackle things with a positive attitude and enjoy everything we do in school.

Achieve – Oscar. You have blown us away with your effort and determination this half term because of this, you have made excellent progress.

Young Readers Project

On Wednesday 7th December, we held our first Young Readers Project event. We enjoyed creating our bookmarks and getting cosy with hot chocolate and cookies to enjoy our new book ‘The Christmasaurus’. The children loved receiving their own book to read at home. Thank you to the National Literacy Trust for their support with this. Another two events will follow later in the year.

Carols Around The Tree

Last Thursday, we held our annual Carols Around The Tree. Thank you to all of the families who were able to join us. We certainly got in the festive spirit with some beautiful singing and brillaint dance moves from the children and some staff!
