KS1 Class News. Welcome back

The children have had a wonderful first week back. We are super proud of how the children have settled back into our routine.

We have had a couple of new children join KS1 this week and they have settled in well at Newham Bridge with the help of our kind and caring children helping them.

On Wednesday, we had a real treat. M and M Productions came and preformed Robin Hood for us. It was amazing! Both children and staff had a wonderful time.

In Maths, 1TS have been learning about fact families practically before progressing onto completing work in our books. We have also been solving addition and subtraction word problems.

1MG and 1AC have been exploring money practically and progressing onto making amounts of money in different ways.

In English, 1TS have been focusing on verbs. They did an action verb hunt around the classroom. We also had to decide if something was an action verb or a being verb. We then progressed onto identifying the subject in a sentence.

1MG and 1AC have been consolidating subjects, verbs and co-ordinating conjunctions. In our Reading Immersion session we read ‘the sound collector’ and acted out the poem using instruments. We had lots of fun!

In Geography, 1TS have been identifying and labelling the 7 Continents on a world.

1MG and 1AC have been consolidating our knowledge about the 7 Continents and 5 oceans before moving onto the next part of our topic.
