Weekly news 25.9.26

A wonderful week in Reception this week, the children have been exploring the different areas and continuing to make new friends

PSED (Personal, social and emotional development) – We talked about our Class rules, how to keep each other safe, be gentle and honest, look after our equipment, work hard and be a good listener.

Oracy – We looked different families and talk about how our families are the same and how some are different. We also talked about what we like doing with our families.

Talk through stories – We enjoyed listening to the story ‘Owl Babies’, We learned about how the characters were feeling, what the problem was in the story and joined in with the story following phrases and showing expression.

Music – We listened to different songs and happily joined in. We also moved to the music and danced with partners. Mrs Collins played her violin this week.

PE – Linking with our ICT – algorithm (step by step instructions), we continued to walk in different ways (forwards, backwards, fast, slow) by following colour coded instructions. Green – walk forward, red-stop, yellow -backwards, blue- fast pace, orange-slow pace. Some children even learned how to give out the instructions.
