Weekly news 16.9.26

One more week to go! The children have worked exceptionally well this week, working in the curriculum areas and really building on their skills on taking turns.

What else has been happening this week?

Oracy – We looked at friendships this week and discussed how we make friends and how we would help someone who was feeling sad if they had no one to play with.

ICT – We talked about the instructions ‘go and stop’ in Wonderblocks and adding the next instruction to make something do something.

Maths – We learned about ‘more than’ and ‘fewer than’. The children looked at different abouts and explained if the objects were more than or fewer than. The children continued this learning outside, counting the conkers, twigs and fir cones outside.

Talk through stories – We enjoyed listening to the story ‘Room on a Broom’ by Julia Donaldson. A story about a witch who is kind and has a cat. She invites three other animals to join her on her travels on her broomstick but comes across a Dragon. We learned about how the characters were feeling, what the problem was in the story and joined in with the story following phrases and showing expression.
