Weekly News – 04.05.23

It has been a very busy week this week in Year 3. The children thoroughly enjoyed being up close with some amazing Amazon creatures. They found out about the different layers of the Rainforest and were able to touch and hold a range of animals, including an African snail, a giant millipede, a red-footed tortoise, a white- tree frog, an owl, a tarantula and a crested gecko.

In English, the children completed their non-chronological reports on Amazon Animals and decorated around their work.

In Maths, the children completed work on mass and capacity.

In PE, this week the children learnt about different balancing positions and created a mini performance. Then there was an opportunity for a group of Year 3s to go to a hockey event. The children who went were amazing and were a credit to our school – super behaviour!

Thursday Open Afternoon, the children loved sharing their work with their parents and the parents loved looking through the amazing work. Thank you for coming!

This Friday, the children decorated their classroom to celebrate the Coronation. Then the children had a picnic in the hall (due to the British weather). A lovely day!
