Welcome Back Year 3!6.1.23

We have had a great start to the New Year! Everyone came back to school settled and ready to work. This week, we have introduced the children to their exciting new topic ‘Tribal Tales’, focusing on the Stone, Bronze and Iron age and the children seemed very excited about this.

Our learning this week:

English – The children are starting to plan their character descriptions about different cave men and women, using noun phrases, adjectives and verbs.

Maths – We are continuing to learn about multiplication and division strategies, looking at the 2,3,4,5,6,8 and 10 times tables.

Guided reading – We read information about the different ages and answered questions about the text.

PE- Mrs Short has been teaching the children a new sporting skill – hockey.

We also had a visit from a police officer who came in to talk to KS2 about online safety. The children had the opportunity to listen to the pros and cons of using certain APPs and were able to ask questions.
