Weekly news 19.05.23

What a busy week it has been in Year 3 this week! All of the children have been helping Mrs Henwood learn the routines and Mrs Ede enjoyed her time in 2NS on Tuesday.

In English, we have planned and started to draft our letters to Mrs Hewitt-Best. We have been able to use some of the knowledge we gained during our For and Against deforestation discussion last week which is great.

In Maths we have continued our work on Fractions, looking at unit and non-unit fractions of amounts. It has been tricky but we have all persevered and tried our best!

In Science we recorded our observations from our experiment and created a life cycle of a plant. We then used our science knowledge during our Computing lesson where we completed a 2Animate creation which showed the life cycle of a plant.

We all need a rest this weekend! See you on Monday 🙂

Pupil of the week

In 2ZH this week, Georgie has been chosen for Pupil of the week. He is always organised, follows the Golden Rules and completes homework on time. What a superstar!

Riley is the Pupil of the week in 2NS. He has worked hard, especially in Maths. Keep up the great effort!

Reading Superstars

The Star Reader Award in 2ZH this week goes to Jemima, for lovely 1:1 reading with Mrs Matthewman. Well Done!

In 2NS, the Star Reader Award goes to Ava. Great effort reading at home Ava, keep it up!

Homework

As you will have seen in the homework books yesterday the Maths homework this week will be a task on Times Tables Rock Stars (TTRS). After the half term holidays homework and spellings will all be on the homework page on the school website. As part of our topic and the effects of deforestation we thought it would be the ideal time to reduce our use of paper! We will support any parents who have trouble accessing/locating the homework page – please just ask 🙂
