What another busy week we’ve had in Year 1 this week! The children have worked incredibly hard.
In English we have been reading ‘Room on the broom’ and talking about what happened in the story. We explored the characters and drew who the children would want to fly on their broom. We explored polysyllabic words and progressed onto writing sentences about the story.
In Maths we have been exploring fact families and number bonds to 10.
In Topic we have been consolidating our learning.
Notices

Across this term, we are looking at the season of Autumn. In school, we are making a display about how we celebrate this season. If you go on any Autumn walks, pumpkin picking trips or anything linked to Autumn, we would love to see! Please send a photo to the school address and we will be able to share it with the class, and on our display. We look forward to sharing your wonderful experiences.

Spellings – spellings will be handed out every Friday for the children to practise ready for our spelling quiz the following Friday.
Coats -The weather is changing and is unpredictable. Please can children bring a coat to school every day.
Water bottles – Plastic water bottles only.
PE – Our PE days this term are Tuesday and Thursday. Our PE uniform is a white t-shirt, black shorts, plimsolls/trainers, plain joggers (no branding), school jumper for outdoors. Please remove earrings for PE.
Each day in Maths we practise our daily counting and KIRFs (Key Instant Recall Facts). Your child has been given the following leaflet which explains what we hope your child could to do by the end of this half term and how you can help your child achieve this. Thank you for your continued support.
