Year 1 Class News- 25.9.26

We have had another brilliant week. We are very proud of all of the boys and girls in Year 1 for their excellent attitude towards their learning.

In English, we have been reading a story called The Smartest Giant in Town. We wrote some sentences about the story using capital letters, full stops and finger spaces.

In Maths, we have concluded our learning about numbers to 10. We are super at recognising numbers and words to ten!

In Science, we learned about 2 new animal groups called reptiles and birds. We learned about the characteristics belonging to each group, and sorted animals correctly.

In Topic, we learned about the 4 countries that make up the United Kingdom. We also learned about settlements called cities, towns and villages, and how each differ.

Notices

As the seasons change, we would like to showcase all of the wonderful things that you do at home in Autumn. Please send in any photos of the fun activities, adventures, days out, or special moments so that the children can share them with the class. The children really enjoy talking about their experiences and seeing what their friends have been doing.

Reading

The children have been given a phonics reading book or sheet to read at home. Phonics books will be changed each Friday and sharing books are changed Tuesday and Thursday. Books remain in school each Thursday evening, ready for the Phonics book change.
