Year 1 class news – 11.09.26

We have had a wonderful week in year 1 and the children have worked incredibly hard.

In English we have been matching the uppercase letter to the correct lowercase letter. We have explored what we need to include in a super sentence and progressed onto writing simple sentences.

In maths we have been counting on from any number, recognising numbers as words and the progressed onto counting backwards from 10.

In Topic we have been exploring where in the world is our school. We have explored the street names in our area around school.

Notices

As the seasons change, we would like to showcase all of the wonderful things that you do at home in Autumn. Please send in any photos of the fun activities, adventures, days out, or special moments so that the children can share them with the class. The children really enjoy talking about their experiences and seeing what their friends have been doing.

The children have been given a phonics reading book or sheet to read at home. Phonics books will be changed each Friday and sharing books are changed Tuesday and Thursday.
