Year 1 class news – 18.09.26

We have had a brilliant week with lots of super work being produced. Well done, Year 1!

In English, we have been exploring a story called The Leaf Thief. We drew a picture of our favourite part of the story and wrote a sentence to match. We tried really hard to use capital letters, full stops and finger spaces.

In Maths, we have been comparing numbers and objects using the more than, less than and equal to signs.

In Science, we learned about mammals, which animals are mammals and what characteristics are required to be a mammal.

In Topic, we drew a picture of our home and tried our best to write our address.

Wow! What a busy week!

As the seasons change, we would like to showcase all of the wonderful things that you do at home in Autumn. Please send in any photos of the fun activities, adventures, days out, or special moments so that the children can share them with the class. The children really enjoy talking about their experiences and seeing what their friends have been doing.

Reading

The children have been given a phonics reading book or sheet to read at home. Phonics books will be changed each Friday and sharing books are changed Tuesday and Thursday. Books remain in school each Thursday evening, ready for the Phonics book change.

PE– Our PE days this term are Tuesday and Wednesday.

PE uniform –
White t-shirt, black shorts, plimsolls/trainers, plain joggers (no branding), school jumper for outdoors.
Please remove earrings for PE.

Homework

The children are coming home today with their new homework folder. All of the information needed is attached to the folder. If you have any questions however, please just ask a member of staff.

Thank you for your continued support.
