Nursery – 16.07.26

What a lovely week in nursery ending with a wonderful Stay and Play Nursery Rhyme Time! We hope you enjoyed spending precious time in nursery with us. Thank you to our parents, aunties and grandparents for your continued support. We are busy planning the next one for Autumn 2.

In maths, we have been looking at patterns and hearing and saying number names. We sing 1,2,3,4,5 Once I Caught a Fish Alive. 1,2 Buckle my Shoe. 5 Currant Buns in a Bakers Shop. 5 Little Ducks. Do you sing these at home? Do you sing any other number songs?

We continue to work on lots of fundamental skills; listening and following simple instructions, asking for help if they need it, taking turns and remembering to ‘Choose it, Use it, Put it Away!’ Aren’t we busy!

Learning to listen and follow instructions using the parachute.

In Music this week, we enjoyed listening to different music and playing along. We are learning to play and stop. We also like using the big scrunchie to keep the beat.

Phonics and Oracy

This week we have been saying the beginning sounds of the children’s names and other words with the same sounds. We had Happy Henri, Jumping Juliette, Lovely Layla, Itchy Ismael and Busy Bea. Can your child remember theirs?

We also continue to practise the following Nursery Rhymes. We can tell you are practising them at home! Thank you

Our story this week…

This week our stories are The Family Book by Todd Parr and Full, Full, Full of Love by Trish Cooke. These books show us how different families live. We talked about who we love in our family.
