KS1 class news- 13.12.24

Wow, what a busy week we’ve had in KS1!

The children have worked hard practising their performance. We had our dress rehearsal on Wednesday and the school thoroughly enjoyed it. We had our first performance for parents/carers on Thursday and our final performance on Friday. The children really enjoyed performing it and we hope you enjoyed watching. We would like to say well done to the children for all the hard work they put into making the performance so wonderful. We would also like to thank parents/carers for your continued support and helping with your child learning their lines.

In Maths, 1TS have been solving addition and subtraction number sentences using part-whole models and then progressed on to fact families.

1MG and 1AC have been consolidating their addition and subtraction block and completing our termly Key instant recall facts.

In English, 1TS have been writing a poem about a snowman for our handwriting competition.

1MG and 1AC have been writing a poem about a snowflake for the handwriting competition. Good luck everyone!

In History, 1TS have been learning about Florence Nightingale and exploring hospitals then and now.

1MG and 1AC have been learning about Tim Peake. Then they completed a timeline of the significant events in his life and made comparisons between Tim Peake and Neil Armstrong.

ITS have also made rockets for DT and then evaluated their design.
