Autumn 1 – Week 7

Our children have had an absolutely amazing week this week! We are so proud of their enthusiasm and resilience towards their learning. Well done Year 6 on a fantastic week! Keep it up for the last week of term 🙂

We have finished our PVPG lessons for this year and we are really impressed with how much knowledge the children have retained over the half term. We hope to see the skills that they have learnt demonstrated within their written work over the coming weeks. In maths, the children have worked really hard on their square and cube numbers, the children must be encouraged to access Times Table Rockstars to help them to work out more challenging square and cube numbers.

In art we created our own miniature portraits inspired by the amazing work of Sarah Biffin. We painted our own portraits that were 6cm by 7cm. The children had to be extremely precise and use a very steady hand to create the desired image. We had a special visitor on Wednesday as our local councillor, Luke Henman, came into school to talk about Acklam and what he is doing to make it better. The children had lots of great questions and informed him of the history of Middlesbrough and how it began.

Congratulations to our Pupils of the Week this week. In 2BV, for listening carefully in lessons, trying her absolute best and looking out for others it was Ronnie! In 2HB, it was Shyray for having an amazing attitude towards learning. Well done Girls! 🙂

We hope you have an amazing weekend 🙂
