YEAR ONE CLASS NEWS – 28.11.25

What another busy week we’ve had in Year 1 this week! The children have worked incredibly hard.

In English we have been learning about regular action verbs.

In Maths we have been consolidating our learning so far.

In Topic this week we explored the voyages that Captain James Cook made.

In DT we have made our own telescope that we would use on our adventure on the Endeavour.

Notices

Come and Read – Monday at 8.40 am is our Come and Read session in the hall. We look forward to seeing you there.

Winter Fayre – Our winter fayre will be held on Wednesday 3rd December 3.30 – 4.30 pm. Thank you for your continued support and kind donations.

Across this term, we are looking at the season of Autumn. In school, we are making a display about how we celebrate this season. If you go on any Autumn walks, pumpkin picking trips or anything linked to Autumn, we would love to see! Please send a photo to the school address and we will be able to share it with the class, and on our display. We look forward to sharing your wonderful experiences.

Homework – Homework will be handed out every Friday to be returned the following Wednesday.

Spellings – spellings will be handed out every Friday for the children to practise ready for our spelling quiz the following Friday.

Coats -The weather is changing and is unpredictable. Please can children bring a coat to school every day.

Water bottles – Plastic water bottles only.

PE – Our PE days this term are Monday and Wednesday. Our PE uniform is a white t-shirt, black shorts, plimsolls/trainers, plain joggers (no branding), school jumper for outdoors. Please remove earrings for PE.
