Class News 18.09.26

This week in Year 3, the children have been busy learning about different types of nouns and verbs in English. In Maths, we have been developing our understanding of place value by finding 1 more, 10 more and 100 more, as well as finding 1 less, 10 less and 100 less. We have also been practising using number lines to 1,000. The children have particularly enjoyed our History topic, learning about how people found and prepared food during the Palaeolithic and Neolithic periods and exploring how life changed over time. In Science, we have been learning about our skeletons and discovering how they support our bodies and protect our vital organs. It has been a fantastic week of learning, and the children have worked hard and shown lots of enthusiasm!

Notices and homework

PE

Our PE days this half term are Monday and Wednesday.

Please ensure your child comes to school on these days wearing their correct PE kit- white t-shirt, plain black shorts or joggers, a red jumper or hoodie and plain black plimsolls or trainers. Thank you for your continued support :-).

Homework

The children are expected to read at least three times a week and have their reading record signed by a parent or guardian each time. Please use this opportunity to ask your child questions about what they have read to help develop their understanding and comprehension.

Children in Mrs Falconer’s group should complete a full page on the 7 times tables, while children in Mrs Farrell’s group should complete a full page on the 5 times tables. This homework is due in on Wednesday. The children should also try to spend some time on TTRS each week (logins can be found in their reading records) to help them prepare for their times tables test on Friday.

Pupils of the Week

Well done to our Pupil of the Week:
