Class News – 12.09.25

Welcome back everyone!

It has been another wonderful week back in school. The children have done extremely well with their learning this week and have tried super hard.

In Maths, we have been recapping our knowledge on Place Value. We have been representing and partitioning numbers to 100 and placing them correctly on a number line. We have been practising our 3 times tables through songs and games and this is our focus for our Maths homework this week.

In English, we have been recapping our knowledge of nouns. We know what common nouns and proper nouns are and we can identify a collective noun in sentences.

Our new Topic this half term is Ancient Egyptians. This week, we have placed historical events and dates on a timeline and complete a pre-assessment activity to identify what we already know about this topic.

Notices and dates

PE

Our PE days this half term are Monday and Thursday.

Please ensure your child comes to school on these days wearing their correct PE kit- white t-shirt, plain black shorts or joggers, a red jumper or hoodie and plain black plimsolls or trainers. Thank you for your continued support :-).

Reading books

The children will come home with their new reading log and reading book this week. Please listen to your child read when possible and sign their reading log. When the children are confident with their reading book, they can quiz on the book in school and can then choose a new reading book to take home. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
