Week 5 – 6th February

The children have had a very busy week, this week. We would like to thank all those who attended our Numeracy Morning, it was a fantastic success! Your support was greatly appreciated.

In our English lessons, we have been writing our persuasive text all about Egypt. The children have become travel agents, trying to get their readers to travel to Egypt to see the sights. In our Maths lessons, we have continued to look at multiplication and division.

Our topic this half term is, Our Wonderful World. This topic is all about comparing our local area to Egypt. This week the children have looked at the physical and human features of our local area and Luxor.

Notices

Across this term, we are looking at the season of Winter. In school, we are making a display about how we celebrate this season. If you go on any Winter walks, or anything linked to Winter, we would love to see! Please send a photo to the school address and we will be able to share it with the class, and on our display. We look forward to sharing your wonderful experiences.

School Uniform

Red jumper/cardigan, grey or black trousers/skirt, white polo/white shirt, black shoes

PE

Our PE days this term are Wednesday and Thursday. Our PE uniform is a white t-shirt, black shorts, plimsolls/trainers, plain joggers (no branding), school jumper for outdoors. Please remove earrings for PE.

Reading

Sharing books will be changed every Tuesday and new phonics books will be changed every Friday. We ask that the children read at least 3 times a week. Please ensure that your child’s reading book and book bag is on school every day.

Homework

Homework will be handed out every Friday and should be returned by the following Wednesday.
