Year 3 have had a fantastic week! In guided reading, we enjoyed exploring Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and five lucky children found golden tickets! We had lots of fun acting out different scenes and designing and creating our very own sweets and chocolates. Maths has been a little tricky this week as we have been adding and subtracting across the next 10 and 100, but everyone has tried their best and shown great perseverance. In Science, we have been learning all about animal skeletons and comparing the similarities and differences between them. In DT, we began learning how to sew. Although it was a little tricky at first, everyone showed great resilience and gave it their best go!
Notices and homework
PE
Our PE days this half term are Monday and Wednesday.
Please ensure your child comes to school on these days wearing their correct PE kit- white t-shirt, plain black shorts or joggers, a red jumper or hoodie and plain black plimsolls or trainers. Thank you for your continued support :-).
Homework
The children are expected to read at least three times a week and have their reading record signed by a parent or guardian each time. Please use this opportunity to ask your child questions about what they have read to help develop their understanding and comprehension.
Children in Mrs Falconer’s and Mrs Farrell’s group should all complete a full page on the 4 times tables. This homework is due in on Wednesday. The children should also try to spend some time on TTRS each week (logins can be found in their reading records) to help them prepare for their times tables test on Friday.
